The Science of Jurassic World
This books a really nice combination between science and fiction (and the science behind the fiction). We all grew up watching Jurassic Park movies, and for many paleontologists it those movies that inspired us, helped us realise that maybe this is a real job not just something kids dream off. Anyway, back to the book. The book goes into a nice amount of detail to the science, but not so much detail that it feels like your reading a textbook. It covers topics such as genetics, cloning, de-extinction, dinosaur biology and behaviour as well as touching on the ethics of cloning extinct animals. It's a really good, easy read and debunks lots of the myths that Jurassic Park popularised such as the idea of Velociraptors being these big intelligent pack hunters (they were actually about the size of a turkey and probably solitary hunters). I would reccomend this book, if your a fan of Dinosaurs or an academic that wants to know more about the behind the scenes of those movies we all love. 8/10.
Dinosaurs: 10 Things You Need to Know
This books a consise little read of 10 interesting and important facts abou dinosaur and what we know about their lives. This book doesnt get into depth about any of the topics covered, but it does a good job at introducing the facts consisely. I would certainly reccommend this book to those new to the world of paleontology, or for those younger in age.
Plant Fossils of the Carboniferous Rocks in Great Britian
This book is fairly technical, and if definetly not a casual read serving as a good referance book and or field guide to identifing Carboniferous fossils. Despite it being more technical it is certainly possible to use for identification without the technical knowledge, as the book has mamny illustrations to help with this. However, the books fairly outdated (more work needs to be done to keep this upto date with current research) and is not comprehensive of all the finds, with many genras such as Karinopteris being completely neglected. Despite this it is still a very valuable guide and I would reccommend to anyone in the field.

Velocipastor
This movie is truely beautiful, incase you couldn't tell from the title, a pastor in what I presume is some part of rural southern america gets possessed by a velociraptor that is out for blood. The special effects are of the highest quality (not) and the acting is top notch (also not). The plots simple (not) but it all works together amazingly. From the really poorly designed Velociraptor costume which is actually more of a T-Rex hump-bac type creature to the somewhat problematic Chinese mafia type characters in which the pastors possestion originates. If you want a low quality, low budget tterly stupid movie, this ones for you. Who wouldnt that ?? Genuinely one of the best bad movies I've seen 10/10.
